In the early stages of Buddhism it is said that women were not wanted in the religious community, the traditional view of women in early buddhism is that they are inferior. Women in Buddhism are said to have five obstacles, namely being incapability of becoming a Brahma King, Sakra, King Mara, Cakravartin or Buddha.
