Section B-Comparative Analysis
-According to the Jewish law, at the age of thirteen a boy is no longer considered a young boy and is now responsible to fulfill all the Torah's commandments. This is essentially the transition from boyhood to manhood. The term “bar mitzvah” literally means “son of the mitzvah,” or one who is obligated in mitzvah observance. A Bar Mitzvah is a joyous occasion in which it is celebrated with both friends and family. The Bar Mitzvah ceremony first starts with a synagogue ceremony which welcomes the boy to the world of the Jewish manhood. During this ceremony, he receives all these different opportunities and responsibilities that come with his new found status as a man. During this ceremony, the boy wears the tefillin as he approaches the age of thirteen. The tefillin is shown as a honor that a boy receives during his bar mitzvah. In this case, the parents or the grandparents purchase the tefillin. A tefillin is worm around the arm and on the head. In honor of the bar mitzvah, a feast and party are thrown in honor of the young man.
-The three similarities of the religious theme in the skit to the actual religious traditions are the fact that Drake gives his bar mitzvah speech, he is wearing a yamaka, and his parents threw a party celebration at the end of his bar mitzvah ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by friends and family in which is essential and important during an occasion as so. All in which do actually happen in reality during these ceremonies.
-The three differences of the religious theme in the skit to the actual religious traditions are the fact that Drake is not wearing the tefillin, Drake also is not reading the torah nor is he covered around the shoulders.
