NATIVE AMERICAN RELIGIONS AND THEIR ART
Art played a huge role in the lives of Native Americans. In the Native American culture, the artist, was viewed as the wealthy individual in the tribe. The role of the artist was seen as a powerful, compelling, and effective position. Therefore, the artists were very important within their tribes and/or societies.
The main role of an artist in an Native American culture is essentially the same of those artists in present time. Artists were meant to create visual forms of some sort to gain appreciation for their beauty or emotional power.
